Day 1: Fly to Panama CityFrom your departing city, fly to the Panama City, the capital city of Panama.Day 2: Biking on the Amador CausewayWe will bike along Amador Causeway, a beautiful long, winding road flanked by ocean on both sides. This roadway links the capital to the small islands of Naos, Perico, and Flamenco. The newly renovated land bridge was built using soil excavated during the canal’s construction and is a very popular place for locals to bike and take a stroll. We will be providing bikes, and everyone will be able to enjoy the captivating views of the city skyline and Bridge of the Americas. In addition, we will take pictures outside the colorful, origami-like Biomuseo, a famous museum in Panama that celebrates Panama’s unique biodiversity.Day 3: Panama Canal and Bridge of the AmericasIn the morning, we will visit the Panama Canal. It is a man-made 48-mile waterway in Panama that connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean. It was built in 1914 by the US government to facilitate international maritime trade. We will visit the Panama Canal Museum which chronicles the history of this historic international landmark and see the canal ourselves while also learning a lot about its significance. You will also have the opportunity to experience the interactive virtual reality simulation center where you will be able to experience the entire canal transit as if you were traveling on the bridge of a large, ocean-going ship.Next, we head to Casco Viejo Old Town, a world cultural heritage city since 1997. This town's history dates back to 1671. Here, there are breath-taking Spanish churches, informative museums, authentic restaurants, and lively jazz clubs. The Plaza de France is the ideal starting point for exploring Casco Viejo. In this historic city square, you can overlook Panama Bay and the city skyline. Day 4: San Blas Caribbean IslandsSan Blas Islands have some of the most gorgeous, pristine waters in Panama. The islands have not been marred by large-scale tourism and give a glimpse to what untouched paradise looks like. The native Kuna people protect these islands from large-scale tourism damage, allowing the waters to maintain their glistening clarity and jewel color. If you have been looking for untapped nature and culture, you can find it here.The traditional food here features plentiful lobster and big crab, fresh coconut rice, fried bananas and fried cassava! The beaches of the islands are lined with soft, white sand and guests can enjoy the beauty of the ocean while relaxing under swaying palm trees. Day 5: Bridge of the Americas and Fly to Costa RicaTo experience the rapid development and construction of Panama City in recent years, you must come to Panama's La Cinta Costera beach. It has been compared to Hong Kong's Victoria Bay or the Gulf of Manhattan in New York. We can stand on the embankment of the new city overlooking the old town. Panama is located at the isthmus of Central America, and the Cinta Costera bridge serves as the exact dividing line between North and South America. Before entering the bridge on the left, you can see a pavilion-style garden that serves as a memorial to the Chinese community which has made Panama their home for 150 years.In the afternoon, we will head to the airport and fly to San Jose, Costa Rica. Day 6: Arenal VolcanoAfter complimentary breakfast at the hotel, we will travel northwest to see an amazing view of the 1,633-meter-tall Arenal Volcano. The volcano's symmetrical, cone-shaped outline stands tall above the fertile Costa Rican landscape at its base. Until 2010, Arenal was the country's most active volcano, and to this day is a must-see sight in Costa Rica. Guests will be staying at the "Los Lagos " located at the foot of the volcano. The environment is beautiful and quiet. Nearby, many optional activities are available to guests such as horse-back riding, zip-lining, massages, and hot springs.Day 7: Tabacon Volcano Spa HotelAfter breakfast, we will head to Tabacon Volcano Spa Hotel, which is one of the World's Top 10 Ecological Spa Venues. This luxurious resort has won several international awards for its scenic hot springs. The thermal waters in these springs are naturally warmed by the volcano and are filtered and mineralized underground. Surrounding the springs are cascading waterfalls shaded by an assortment of exotic, leafy greenery. Travelers can wade through the different warm pools that each have varying temperatures and water flow. Guests are free to enjoy the variety of recreational facilities and hot springs located at the resort. A five-star quality lunch and dinner will be served. We will stay until eight o'clockbefore returning back to the little town of Fortuna.Day 8: Zarcero, Sarchi, and San JoseIn the morning, we will head to the scenic town of Zarcero located in the San Jose Highlands. We will visit a beautiful church called the Iglesia de San Rafael that is filled with historic paintings, majestic archways, and colorful stained-glass windows. Behind the church is the Parque Francisco Alvardo—a breath taking topiary garden that had giant shrubs and hedges shaped like animals, people, and creative shapes. Also, the garden is overlooked with grand shrubbery arches that amaze locals and tourists alike.Next, we head to the artisan town of Sarchi, which is known for its beautiful and colorful handmade crafts and souvenirs. This town is known throughout Costa Rica for their intricate and decorative oxcarts that have been hand-made here for over a century. We will be visiting a workshop that makes these color oxcarts to this day and also have the chance to buy authentic Costa Rican souvenirs. Next we will visit downtown San Jose and view the bustling cultural life and famous buildings at the capital's center. There are plenty of historically-significant, rustic European style buildings such as the Teatro Nacional Costa Rica that are a source of pride for the city's inhabitants. Day 9: Laz Paz Waterfall GardensAfter breakfast, we will visit the Laz Paz Waterfall Gardens which is a unique ecological nature park in Costa Rica. Inside the park there are five waterfalls, multiple rain forest trails, an aviary with many species of birds, an insect and butterfly exhibit, and much more. In the past, guests have delighted in feeding friendly big-mouthed toucans and interacting with the playful capuchin + spider monkey populations in the park. In addition, there are also exotic cats, frogs, flowers, and humming birds that can be seen. In the afternoon, our tour will be eating at a delicious buffet featuring traditional costa rican dishes, fresh fruits, rice pudding, and unlimited drinks.Day 10, Depart for HomeAfter breakfast, our tour guide will drop guests off at the airport. The tour concludes here and guests may return to their places of origin. |
